According to research by the Search Institute, only 42% of Minnesota youth report having strong relationships with adults at school and in out-of-school time (OST) programs. This and other findings by Search Institute are one element that will inform the Foundation’s Constellation grantmaking.
As part of the Foundation’s work to fund actionable research that aids in the prevention of sex trafficking, we’re supporting the University of Minnesota School of Nursing Minnesota Youth Sex Trading (MYST) team as they research sex trading by LGBTQ+ youth and cisgender boys.
The Capri Theater offers education, arts and youth programming to children, families and the North Minneapolis community in a newly renovated and expanded, state-of-the-art building. These improvements align with Carlson Family Foundation’s goal to support youth access to arts and culture, particularly underserved youth, and identify and eliminate barriers to their participation.
