North Commons Park renovation takes shape with youth input
North Commons Park in North Minneapolis is one of the oldest and largest neighborhood parks in the Minneapolis Parks system, with one of the highest concentrations of young people in the state of Minnesota. The Carlson Family Foundation is pleased to contribute to the transformational renovation of this park as part of our Vibrant Communities goal to support youth access to arts, culture and green spaces that affirm youths’ identities.
With more than 12,000 youth who live within walking distance of North Commons Park, and nearby proximity to organizations that serve youth such as the Capri Theater, Juxtaposition Arts and the YMCA, we’re excited to see plans for the new park take shape with direct input from youth.
